We’re so excited to announce that the Vocals Production team is at it again, but they’ve got a new name: Vocal Veteran! Readers may remember Denny and I had a blast attending the Veterans Smokeout festival last August.

Our new old tent debuted at the Smokeout. Denny’s mom gave us a hand-me-down tent to replace ours that died last year, and it’s a palace!

The Women’s Panel was one of the many informative conversations at the Smokeout.

The Smokeout was a three-day music festival with vendors, panel discussions and educational opportunities. The goal at Vocal Veteran is to build community around veterans who may need education and support when it comes to using hemp and cannabis to treat their conditions. Veterans are one of the many vulnerable populations curious about these plants and the decision to use them medicinally.

This time Raymond Cloutier and irie girl Chrissy are putting together a Veterans Hemp & Cannabis Expo and Dance April 4 at the Madison American Legion Post 39. Members of the general public are welcome and encouraged to attend. If the energy at the Expo is anything like the energy at the Smokeout, folks will be glad they came. The event is at the Madison American Legion Post 39 at 20 Maple St. from 10 am – 11 pm and is free for veterans. The cost for members of the general public is $5 and covers both the expo and the dance.

There will be plenty of networking and educational opportunities during the various panels being hosted that will focus on things like addiction and veterans’ issues. CBD vendors like our wonderful sponsor, Hippy Chick Natural Solutions, 207 Edibles, Moosehead Medicine, and others will be offering their knowledge and CBD products, as well; and the We Fry High food truck will be selling refreshments in the parking lot.

There are even going to be medical cards available on site. Julie Milliken will be at the Expo for people interested in acquiring their medical marijuana cards. The cost for veterans will be $39 and all others $49.

Music will be an important feature, too. August West and Friends will be providing background music during the day; and American Rust will provide the tunes to get attendees dancing in the evening. Chrissy described the dance as “less networking, more socializing!” We love the idea because it seems like a fun way to wrap up a community-oriented day.
